Patrick and Kathryn :: A Nostalgic Fall Wedding :: State College, Pennsylvania
The drive to Patrick and Kathryn’s wedding was relaxing and beautiful. The twisting roads curved over and through the mountains all the way up to State College. It was exciting to be able to walk around and experience a small piece of what life is like at Penn State. The college is historic and beautiful and it is a place where many love stories begin.
I had the chance to meet two people, both creative and full of fun energy, who met, fell and love and returned back to where it all began to say I do. There were so many special moments and personal items that held meaning for the couple that were tucked into every piece of Patrick and Kathryn’s wedding day. Many people came from near and far to be a part of this very charming and nostalgic wedding.
Kathryn, or Ryn as she is affectionately referred to by her friends and family, looked absolutely stunning in her custom designed bridal gown that flowed and swirled beautifully (how many people get to say that a friend designed their wedding dress!?). Throughout the day Ryn thoroughly enjoyed gathering up the thick layers of her dress and swinging it side to side as she walked and twirled. The Mikimoto Pearl neckless that graced her neck was passed down to her by her mother. Patrick’s ring was inscribed with the GPS coordinates of where they first met while in class. The party favors given to their guests were books that they themselves had read and loved or were types of books that they’ve enjoyed over the years. They were wrapped (for secrecy) and tagged with beautiful bookmarks thanking each guest for being a part of their day (how fun!). There was so much creativity and love wrapped up into one day!
